SMVI has the licensed capacity to expand residential services to sixteen (16) additional individuals.  We have homes available to support both men and women in a variety of settings. We are dedicated to listening to all interested parties to develop an individually tailored plan. We encourage family involvement, and ensure a stable environment where dreams and desires are met. Our single family homes exceed typical staffing patterns, utilize metro access and have a vehicle available at each residence to ensure participation in the community as a group or independently. SMVI supports individuals with well trained caring staff and exceptional nursing and nutritional supports. Additionally, SMVI seeks to enhance each individual’s independence, skill development and realization of dreams and goals.

SMVI’s Plaza home is completely handicapped accessible. The men choose activities including going to the 7/11, restaurants and local stores only a short walk away or staying home and watching television. The guys enjoy a friendly neighborhood community feeling that makes living in this house unique.

The men at QE are very social, planning dates, going about town and participating in a variety of events. They are very creative and productive in vocalizing opinions and their rights. Music holds the house together. These guys enjoy being together eating popcorn and watching a sporting event on television or being alone. 

Several of our women’s homes can be characterized as fun loving party houses. They like hosting birthday parties, holiday parties, spa days, picnics and company. They love participating in therapy, going out to movies and dances or staying home listening to music. SMVI’s knitting class and home gardening projects add to the family feeling of each home.
