Community Support/Residential

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

SMVI presently has 18 houses in the community, serving 63 individuals in traditional residential models. We presently serve all levels of mental retardation, as well as secondary disabilities such as cerebral palsy, deafness, blindness, hypothermia, seizures, ulcers, autism, challenging behaviors, aggression, Chron's Disease, scoliosis, depression, OCD, spastic quadriplegia, schizophrenia, and asthma.

SMVI's Residential Services also has three noteworthy distinctions: 1. We make great efforts to maintain and continue the family ties of the individuals served, by including his/her family in all aspects of the person's life to the limits of their desires; 2. We tailor the services provided to meet the expressed and unexpressed wishes of the individual, i.e. we do not have "cookie-cutter services"; and, 3. We believe strongly in getting people out of the house and involved in the community to the utmost extent they are willing.
